TeaPeople is a living map of the world of tea. But if we're honest, it isn't really about tea. It's about the people who love it — and the quiet certainty that somewhere, right now, someone is putting the kettle on and would be glad of your company.

Why this exists

The world is loud and fast, and a good cup of tea is neither. It asks you to slow down, to sit, to notice. We wanted a place with that same temperature — unhurried, warm, a little old-fashioned in the best way. Not another feed to scroll. A table to sit at.

So this is less a directory and more a small society of kindred spirits: people who travel for a single good oolong, who keep a tin of something special for hard days, who believe that pouring tea for a stranger is one of the oldest kinds of friendship.

What's here

• The map — a glowing globe of real teahouses, tea masters and tea people around the world. Zoom into your city, or a city you dream of, and see who is there.
• The people— find kindred spirits by the tea they love, light your lantern when you're up for tea, and write to someone at the table.
• The journal — slow, honest stories about tea and the people who pour it.

Free, and without bots

Everything above is free. There are no ads, no algorithms deciding who you should meet, no engagement tricks, and — this matters to us — no bots and no fake accounts. Every light on the map is a real place; every person you meet is a real person. When we ever charge for something, it will be a plain, honest thing (like a Friend badge for a teahouse), never your attention.
