Privacy

TeaPeople is a small, warm map of the world of tea. We keep the data we hold to the minimum it takes to run it, and we never sell it. Here is the whole of it, plainly.

What we collect

• Your email— so you can sign in with a one-time link. That's the only thing we strictly need.
• What you choose to add — a display name, photo, a few words about the tea you love, your check-ins, saved teahouses, brew-journal entries, messages. All optional, all yours.
• Anonymous analytics— we use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to see which pages and features people find useful. For visitors who aren't signed in this runs cookieless— nothing is stored on your device, so there's no cookie banner to click through. We identify you to analytics only by your account id after you sign in — never by email.

Why

To let you sign in, to draw the map and your corner of it, and to understand what's worth building next. Nothing more.

Who else sees it

Only the services that make TeaPeople work: Supabase (accounts & content, EU), PostHog (analytics, EU), Stripe (only if you become a Friend, for payment), and Resend (to send your sign-in emails). Your public profile and the teahouses you add are, of course, visible to others on the map — that's the point of a shared map.

Deleting your account

Write to us from your account email at privacy@teapeople.app and we'll delete your account and everything tied to it. No forms, no hoops.

Your rights

If you're in the EU/EEA, GDPR gives you the right to see, correct, export or delete your data. Reach us at the address above and we'll help.
